Our Team

Richard Chesney is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Sentinel Peak Capital Partners. He is responsible for developing and effectuating the repositioning strategies for each property that Sentinel acquires. Prior to co-founding Sentinel Peak, Mr. Chesney worked within the Real Estate Finance Group at Goldman, Sachs & Company in Dallas where he participated in the origination, loan closing and securitization of approximately $1.0 Billion in commercial mortgage loans across several asset classes including, multifamily, retail, office and hospitality properties.

Prior to his time at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Chesney worked within the special servicing division within J.E. Robert Companies (JER Partners) where he was part of a team that actively managed all non-performing loans and REO assets. During his time at JER, Mr. Chesney was part of a team that repositioned a portfolio multifamily property in excess of 1,000 units. These repositioning strategies allowed the firm to recoup its original loan balance. Prior to JER, he worked for Cole Capital in Phoenix in an asset management role and began his career with Holliday Fenoglio Fowler in its Dallas office on its debt platform. Mr. Chesney earned his Masters of Business Administration, concentrating in finance, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and his Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and lives in Dallas with his wife, Melanie, and three children.

Ryan Beaupré is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Sentinel Peak Capital Partners. He concentrates chiefly on investment partner communication, the strategy of Sentinel Peak’s corporate growth and focusing on team dynamics across our properties & corporate staff. Ryan enjoys keeping our properties towards the leading edge of online marketability to promote strong leasing, as well as promoting new challenges for Sentinel Peak to enhance investment opportunities for our partners.

Prior to co-founding Sentinel Peak, Ryan worked in the sports and entertainment industry where he provided niche investment banking services to clients focused on stadium and immediately adjacent real estate developments. With a primary focus on feasibility analyses and economic / fiscal impact studies, Ryan participated in advisory services on more than $2.0 billion in sports related capital investment projects. He also held roles in sales and marketing capacities within the NBA and the NFL. Ryan earned his Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and his Bachelors in Business from the University of Arizona. Ryan is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), an avid sports fan and enjoys travel & spending time with family.

Kevin Rabe is the Chief Investment Officer of Sentinel Peak Capital Partners. Kevin oversees the company’s investment strategy and acquisition efforts, where he manages the firm’s deal pipeline, formulates each project’s business plan, and leads the capital structuring for each project. Since joining Sentinel Peak, Kevin has spearheaded the acquisition of over 9,500 units. Prior to joining Sentinel Peak, Kevin earned his M.B.A. from Rice University and Bachelors in Business from University of Texas.

Trevor Lyon serves as the Chief Asset Management Officer at Sentinel Peak Capital Partners. Mr. Lyon oversees the implementation of value-add programs for multifamily communities in Texas concentrated in and around Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth.

Prior to joining Sentinel Peak, Mr. Lyon worked with C-III Capital Partners and prior iterations of the company for 17 years. During that time, he worked as an Equity Asset Manager at C-III on behalf of the firm’s Recovery Funds and as a special servicing asset manager for distressed CMBS loans at both ARCap REIT and Centerline Capital Group. Mr. Lyon earned a B.B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University.

Leslie Malaise is the Chief Accounting Officer at Sentinel Peak Capital Partners, bringing over 20 years of experience in the hotel and multifamily sectors. She started her career in hospitality operations management and transitioned into accounting, gaining extensive expertise in various environments, including a private-equity hotel REIT, a large multifamily management firm, and a multifamily subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. Leslie is a licensed CPA and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Char McCurdy, CAPS, is an award-winning multifamily executive with over 25 years of experience. Her specialties include operational and financial oversight, asset management, third-party management services, strategic account management, business development, and all aspects of multifamily management.

She is active in her church and is currently a member of Apartment Women of the Word. Char has extensive experience with various local, regional, and national industry associations.
